Hello all, shalom!

I am studying Genesis and there are two particular Hebrew words that have confused me lately. I understand that they have no English equivalent and that they 'indicate a direct object' but I am wondering if these two words or specifically את has esoteric, kabbalistic and alchemical significance seeing as though the word contains the beginning and the end of the Hebrew alphabet.

Could you help me in understanding why those two words are in the very first sentence of genesis and what their significance is?

Thank you, and God bless!

I am [את] Alpha and Omega [or Aleph and Tav], the beginning and the ending, says the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty [אל שדי El-Shaddai]. - Revelation 1: 8

את is the Logos, Christ; את is Aleph and Tav within בראשית, the beginning; את is ברא אלהים את השמים the first emanation of ברא אלהים the Creator Elohim in the heavens. ואת is the incarnated Christ; ואת is את within the VAV, the womb of the earth.

בראשית ברא אלהים את השמים ואת הארץ
In the beginning Elohim created the heaven and the earth. - Genesis 1: 1

In the beginning [in בראשית] is the Logos [את], and the Logos [את] was with Elohim, VAV and the Logos [ואת] is Elohim [in the matter, the earth].

The same [את] is in [בראשית] the beginning [and] with Elohim [אלהים את].

All things [all words דברים Debarim] were made by [את] him [the Logos]; and without [את] him [the Logos] was not anything [any דבר Dabar any word] made that has been made.

In it [in את] is life; and the life [manifests through the sexual cross, the letter Tav, and Aleph] is the light of אדם Adam.

[ואת] And the light [of א Aleph] shines [through Tav, the cross] in the [Vav of] darkness; Yet, the Vav [the spine] of darkness [fornicators] apprehended it not. - John 1: 1-5

Weep not: behold, the Lion of the tribe of Judah,
the Root of David, has prevailed to open the book,
and to loose the seven seals thereof. - Revelation 5: 5

Alchemically, these words are read: ברית-אש ברא אלהים Brith Esh Bera Elohim - Pact of Fire created Elohim.

Thank-you, Lion of Judah.

I am wondering, with the Kabbalistic interpretations of biblical hebrew words, is it as stretchy as it is made out? For example, would bereshit also mean the foundation of the covenant? the covenant of fire also?

ברית meaning covenant and אש meaning fire or foundation (osh)?

Much appreciation for the help :)

Therefore is it written "Brashith, bra Alhim" (Gen. i. 1). The two kingdoms created by Alhim (B--two, rashit--kingdoms) for the kingdom is called reshith (beginning) according to the words "Reshith Hochma." - Zohar

It is not רץ but הרץ from רוץ ruts.

הרצ = herald

Weep not: behold, the Lion of the tribe of Judah,
the Root of David, has prevailed to open the book,
and to loose the seven seals thereof. - Revelation 5: 5

Thank-you! this has helped me a lot.

Is there a good Hebrew dictionary I could use online? I am looking up certain words in dictionary websites and they are not coming up. For example, in bereshit, the lecturer said if you seperate bet from bereshit so it has bet and reshit, that reshit means kingdom, but I look this up and it doesn't show that as the definition Reshit Definition. Same with when I put in rats from ha-aretz, which in the Rune Hagal lecture he says rats means overseer, herald, watcher, but it doesn't come up with that definition.

I am not doubting the legitimacy of the claims made by the gnostic instructors as I wholeheartly trust their knowledge on this matter, but maybe I am doing something wrong?
