Hi, near the end of the part 1 of the lecture series 'gnosis of buddha dharma' the statement was made that if one has attained the fourth level, chesed, but one has not yet ended the ego, one can not incarnate the buddha..
I'm wondering if within in your understanding, if the attainment of the 4th level, or chesed can be lost eventually if one hasn't ended the ego.. or is that an attainment that stays in the soul for good.

thank you so much for all you the work here

The sephirah Chesed represents the Innermost Spirit, our Inner Buddha: "God" in other words. The Divine cannot mix with the ego. They are utterly incompatible. So, if we are filled with ego (desires, pride, anger, lust), the Divine cannot incarnate in us 100%. That is, we cannot self-realize as long as the ego is within us. Nevertheless, along the path to complete liberation from the ego, the consciousness attains initiations in which the soul is united with the Innermost more and more. In actual fact, these initiations are attainments for the Innermost, not the human personality. Thus, if the human soul falls from the path, the Innermost retains the acquired attainments, but the human soul loses them. If the human soul once again enters the path, she will have to pass the ordeals and tests again, but it will be harder than before.

Stated simply, the Innermost never falls. Whatever levels the Innermost has acquired, they are preserved in the Innermost. The human soul falls. The human soul can lose everything, even the connection to the Innermost.
