"Everyone who is of the truth hears My voice." John 18:37
1. Suppose in the past I have had a "Guru" who nevertheless commits adultery and fornication (and acts of violence, theft etc.) but who has made sincere efforts to help me. Should his or her words be forgotten, or rather trusted and obeyed under the pretext of learning even from an evil person who is not wholly evil? Is there any hope of converting a person like this, who is liable to take advantage of me at any moment?
Would it be prudent just to move on and remember this person's immoral actions as an example of exactly what not to do?
2. What about a Guru in the physical world who does not fornicate and commit adultery and who knows the great Arcanum, but whose instructions do not seem relevant or helpful to one's life as it is at the present time?
In other words, how to use one's discretion in taking advice? Whose and which instructions to follow?
