An instructor mentioned in one of the audio lectures that it is rare for a fallen Bodhisattva to return back to the path and walk... why is this so and what is needed for such individuals to return? Of course repentance is the only door but I feel that once entering that door there is still more that is needed.

The cross of a fallen Bodhisattva is heavier than regular neophytes, simply because such initiates have more karma to pay relating to the superior law: Katancia. This is the law of initiates and gods, which is very severe.
However, Bodhisattvas possess tremendous merits for having sacrificed for humanity. Due to their previous commitment to Christ and countless humanities revolving within cyclical realms of suffering, fallen Bodhisattvas are given every opportunity to repent and to re-enter the path so as to continue to help the development of Christ within all beings, but only the stubborn ones persist in error, who decisively do not wish to return their Glorian whom they left, and are punished for three crimes:

So look for it up high, and when you’ve found it with your eyes, take it, of right, in your hand: since, if the Fates have chosen you, it will come away easily, freely of itself: otherwise you won’t conquer it by any force, or cut it with the sharpest steel.
And the inanimate body of your friend lies there (Ah! You do not know) and taints your whole fleet with death, while you seek advice and hang about our threshold. So the main crime, the one serious crime that tripped the initiate upside down is sexual in nature? One sexual fall is enough to send the essence tumbling back down?

Is this in reference to seeing Tartarus, hell, in the good way (meditation on the ego), and sailing the lake in the pure way (working with sexual transmutation)? Because we can visit Tartarus in the devolving way and also sail, more like drown in that lake in the devolving way if that is the message...
