All forms of energy in nature can be harnessed by either the ego or the consciousness. In order to harness energy consciously, one must do so consciously, with full awareness of what one is doing. It is impossible to do so if one leaves the consciousness asleep. In other words, if you do not know how to do it, then you cannot. By this simple understanding, we can see that the enormous amounts of energy that the Sun is always pouring up us continues to be used by humanity for harmful purposes.
Solar storms are only one part of a huge swelling wave of energy that is arriving to the Earth, but which, unfortunately, very few are taking advantage of for the benefit of themselves, the planet, and humanity. In most cases, those energies are being used for wars, degeneration, etc.
