I think this question got lost in the shuffle, but there was a student who asked if listening to mantras is beneficial, I was wondering the same myself. They sound so intense and I like to listen to more than one, like this one https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L3HegAD5FHI it sounds POWERFUL. Same with the Gayatri. Since there are so many mantras, is there any advice in picking one to stick with (to use)? Should we try one for a certain period of time and then switch? I know it's advisable and proper to only use one, but is the same true for listening? Thank you so much.

Work with the mantra you feel will develop your soul in the manner and way you need. This requires an intuitive understanding of the purpose of each mantra, which Samael Aun Weor explains throughout his books.

Practice for however long you feel the need. Follow your heart. That is your God speaking to you!

Listening to a mantra is different, if it is just for relaxation. But when we practice mantralization, we want to dedicate all our attention to the mantra used, to feel that one is being consumed by its vibration.

For as our teacher Jalaluddin Muhammad Rumi taught us, "Burn up inside that presence. Burn up."

You can listen to a mantra while meditating, but it is even better to pronounce the mantra yourself.
