Not at all, in fact, to learn about numerology is essential to understanding Kabbalah. Samael Aun Weor wrote the most comprehensive guide to numerology and divination in his work Tarot and Kabbalah (see below).

He also writes of an experience he had with his Being and palm-reading in The Three Mountains, however this was in the internal worlds.

What's important is to be selective of what you study though, because things such as palm-reading, Astrology, divination, etc. have become forms of business that many spiritualists are using as a means to make money, despite the fact they lack the authentic knowledge of these sciences.
