Hello-
I'm new here, but I have a question that has been gnawing at me for years. Ok. Here goes.
Where do I as a Black male of 63 fit into the world of spirituality. I'm not asking to start any racial animosity. There's enough of that already. But I have noticed that a lot of people who claim to be "awake" still harbor a lot of hate. I've been reading a few of the articles on this site and they make a lot of sense and tie up a whole lot of loose ends and issues that I had. They also point out that a lot of people have no idea what they're talking about. But to be honest I feel that a lot of what is written, was not written to include Black people who as a rule embrace the "system" of religion and take the Bible at face value. A lot of Black people use the word spirituality and have no idea of it's meaning.
Again. I'm not writing this to promote any type of animosity or anger. I just want to know and this seemed the proper venue to ask my question without getting blow back.

I know people who study and practice this teaching that are from all parts of the world and from all different cultural, ethnic, racial, and religious backgrounds. I also know people from all different backgrounds that are not at all interested in these teachings, that take the Bible at face value for example. This tradition in ts current form was started in Latin America where the Catholic church is very strong. They interpret the Bible very literally, as does nearly every Christian sect.

Honestly I could say that most of what is written here is not written to be inclusive, no matter what culture. Gnosis has always been directed towards a very small number of people, but these people are not of a certain color or name. All that matters is our internal characteristics.

How I wish that were true in every day life.
