Samael said in one of his books that if gods wanted to advance on the path at some point they need to renounce nirvana. Does that mean return to this earth by choice or what does that mean for the gods? Is renouncing nirvana only for the straight path or does that occur on the spiral path as well? Thank you.

To renounce Nirvana is to incarnate Christ, to enter the straight path by remaining in Malkuth, the physical world. This is in order to continue sacrificing for humanity. This requires that the Master renounce his or her psychological and egotistical attachments to powers and initiations in heaven, to behave as if he or she has none, so as to complete the work of the dissolution of the ego.
