I know I am ignorant for asking this question but insight from you people is always helpful and such a great joy. I recall from a lecture that I think was about meditation that astral projection are the same experience but astral projection is just out of the body and meditation is in the body. From what I gather they are both in the internal realms, so you can accomplish the same thing. I know of people who focus strongly on the astral projection and astral travel in there practices and barely mention meditation. Also master Samael more often I think refers to experience and gaining knowledge by lying down and entering the drowsy state and astral projection more than meditation.
So my questions are is one greater than the other?
Are they interchangeable? They are described as the same experience but they are always very separate, such as in the 6 bardos.
If they are can you astral project instead of meditate or say meditate throughout the night ?
Or is it they are just for different circumstances like if one is more convenient than the other?
Once you become more developed do they merge together and there is no distinction?
Am I just mixed up with the terminology?
I hope this question is understandable not a burden for you to answer. But through my ignorance I'm confused about the distinction. Thank you so much. Teachers of gnosis may you be eternally blessed!
