Hello,

I would like to ask a question regarding the number 666. I note that it is 1:37 as I begin to write this. 137 relates to the tree of life...and to my question.

Does the gnostic tradition see 666 as individual sixes in each brain, thus symbolizing a realized being? Also, does this denote an internalization of 'the beast' since at this stage of development it appears that one no longer peers outward for an answer to evil?

Six is the Arcanum of Indecision, temptation, the struggle against desire and the battle for chastity. The number 6 in each brain represents the Beast 666, the animal ego that currently controls us, and which constitutes, when we make Kabbalistic additions: 6 + 6 + 6 = 18: Twilight in the Tarot, signifying terrible, bloody battles against the tenebrous ones, both within and without.

Study this course!

Thanks, Benedictus.

"In the “Divine Comedy” the dog Cerberus, the Sex, which we must take out of the Tartarus to the “Sun”, is spoken of. This is the Ascension of the Sexual Forces in us, Sexual Forces that must be raised by us and the “I” must be eliminated. This is the basis for the Intimate Self-Realization of the Being. This is the struggle between Light and Darkness in the Arcanum 18."

So, here is the elixir in potential? I would have seen 18 as 9, both negative and positive...as Prima Materia.

The Elixir of Long Life is generated through Arcanum 17: Hope, synthesized as the science of the caduceus of mercury (1 + 7 = 8, the Holy Eight of the spinal medulla). 18 also signifies 9 + 9 = 18, since this is the battle between chastity and fornication within the ninth sphere. The arcana interrelate and integrate; therefore, to thoroughly know one law, one must comprehend the other laws in their totality.

Joyful in hope, suffering in tribulation, be thou constant in thy prayer.

We can only be aware of what the being is learning if we are listening, and thereby learn (about) ourselves. I wouldn't imagine you're suggesting 'it' learns in a particular numerical order :p

God is a mathematician, and the universe is ruled by numbers. There is a sequence in relation to the unfoldment of creation and the process of the Being acquiring Self-knowledge within this universe.

For example, if we wish to understand Arcanum 22: The Return to the Absolute, we must first study how the Monad, the Magician of Arcanum 1, emerged from that Uncreated Light. This is further explained by studying and meditating on how God unfolded into His wife, the Priestess of Arcanum 2, and likewise down the Tree of Life throughout the different Sephiroth. The Tarot, the laws of cosmic order, explain this process of the involution of spirit into matter, and likewise how to ascend back up to the Absolute.

The Being acquires complete cognizance in accordance with our works and efforts to unite our will with His. While God possess cosmic wisdom, it would help us to comprehend what He knows by studying this process of the Ray of Creation in conjunction with the Twenty-two Arcana of the Tarot in their entirety, since each law compliments and explains the others, especially in terms of their unfoldment and thereafter the process of returning back to our original source. This is well explained in the lecture referenced below:

Joyful in hope, suffering in tribulation, be thou constant in thy prayer.

Benedictis, qui venit in nomine Domini. Osanna in excelsis.

"Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord. Hosanna in the highest!"

I'm glad that this post has unravelled in such a way.

I'll braid this thread with my first post on the forum. I use intuition not by choice, it is something that is a more natural mode of operation from day to day. I understand that this is about order, and this is specifically why I referenced 137 (the cosmic number). This is to say that I am patient enough to let the questions (and answers) come, and do not drive myself to studying numbers in sequence at all times. I'm sure there are many here who learn in this way.

"The descent is called involution: the involving of the Spirit or the Ray of Okidanokh in different levels of matter from the higher Talas until reaching Patala. Now the returning is not evolution as many think, but revolution, a work, a development. Evolution always acts in the lower Patala mechanically; beyond that, you have to use willpower."

Nearly 15 years ago I jotted down to paper one of the many intuitions that present themselves from day to day. "Life is something like a bungee jump from the sun...we fall toward earth, 'touch' a point, and we spring back up."

At the time, I knew nothing (in the outward sense) of what that meant. It is obvious to me that the 'spring' is Kundalini. It is also obvious that to me that the point we 'touch' is that inner spark that is the means of propulsion into new dimensions of thought.

Important to note the lecture on "Intelligence", many of the ideas discussed in this thread are to be found in it.
