2. Fortune plango vulnera (I bemoan the wounds of Fortune)
Fortune plango vulnera
I bemoan the wounds of Fortune (Karma)
stillantibus ocellis
with weeping eyes (in the abyss),
quod sua michi munera
for the gifts she made me (the Dharma I earned)
subtrahit rebellis.
she perversely takes away (once my works have been repaid).
Verum est, quod legitur,
It is written in truth,
fronte capillata,
that she has a fine head of hair (her appearance is pleasing),
sed plerumque sequitur
but, when it comes to seizing an opportunity
Occasio calvata.
she is bald (from fornication, making us suffer for our sexual crimes).
In Fortune solio
On Fortune's throne (on Mount Empyrean)
sederam elatus,
I used to sit raised up (I was a great Bodhisattva),
prosperitatis vario flore coronatus;
crowned with the many-coloured flowers of prosperity (for having served Christ);
quicquid enim florui
though I may have flourished
felix et beatus,
happy and blessed,
nunc a summo corrui
now I fall from the peak (into hell)
gloria privatus.
deprived of glory (and with name erased from the Book of Life).
Fortune rota volvitur:
The wheel of Fortune turns;
descendo minoratus;
I go down (through devolution), demeaned;
alter in altum tollitur;
another is raised up (on the path through resurrection);
nimis exaltatus
far too high up (with too much objective reasoning, striving for Anklad)
rex sedet in vertice
sits the king (Meleck, the Bodhisattva) at the summit (the Absolute) -
caveat ruinam!
let him fear ruin (let him fear the disgrace of falling)!
nam sub axe legimus
for under the axis (of the Bhavachakra, the Wheel of Becoming) is written
Hecubam reginam.
Queen Hecuba (for many great Kings and Queens fell into damnation like Javhe, Moloch, Belial, Bael, etc., and just as Troy fell to the Achaeans, so shall Babylon the great, the mother of fornication and adultery, this present humanity, perish from wars and destruction!)
Joyful in hope, suffering in tribulation, be thou constant in thy prayer.
Benedictis, qui venit in nomine Domini. Osanna in excelsis.
"Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord. Hosanna in the highest!"
