In the case of the following quote, what is the difference between "I-ness" and "the Self"?
"Live without the feeling of ‘I-ness’, and attachment. Restrain the senses. Observe the rules of right conduct. Get purity of the heart. Hear the Truth. Abide in the Self. Be happy."
- Swami Sivananda
I understand "the Self" as The Being, and the virtues and qualities it contains intrinsically. Would it be appropriate to say that "I-ness" is referring to all the internal states which contradict the qualities of The Being?
Thank you.
