Would you please care to further define ''meditate upon''?
I understand it as to:
Sit with a ''stabilized and clarified consciousness through profound stillness of the mind in Shamata [which takes a long time of diligent pre-elementary meditation practices to acquire]'' (Quoted from:
Gnostic Meditation;
The Foundation) and focus on the given subject - e.g. in this case a sentence, phrase, picture or intellectual concept from the lecture - perhaps visualizing it, and then awaiting or pleading one's innermost to show one's self what it implies (with a open and receptive mind; that is, to not be expecting anything).
Would you say this is a correct way of defining what one does when one ''meditates upon'' something? Is there something missing?
Thank you very much sir.
