In this tradition we guard ourselves against those who proclaim to have powers, clairvoyance and internal mastery. Real students do not submit themselves to the whims of others, but develop their own powers within under the guidance of God. This is due to the fact that the disciple must come to know the truth for him or herself, and to establish a strong will capable of obeying the Innermost.
When we have the power of the universe within ourselves, here and now, why base our spiritual development on others in this physical world? It is in fact absurd when we have the potential to investigate for ourselves. Sadly, many invest their time, energy and money into such individuals they have no conscious knowledge of. When such students lack knowledge even of themselves and cannot even discriminate their own mind on a daily basis, how can they possibly evaluate and deeply know the hidden intentions of such innumerable self-proclaimed clairvoyants? Why even take such chances when we know the consequences as evidenced in the scriptures?
Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. -Matthew 7:15
Therefore, the serious student will develop true esoteric discipline on their own and will not make life decisions based on people whom they have not consciously investigated. What such students lack is RESPONSIBILITY for their own actions by neglecting to depend upon the will of the Innermost. This is the goal of the Gnostic: to be INDEPENDENT. Those who build their spiritual foundation on the words of clairvoyants will reap a lot of pain and suffering, because they resign themselves into the hands of others, forgetting that they have God within.
From
The Perfect Matrimony by Samael Aun Weor:
Clarification
Within the Gnostic movement, only a few Turiyas exist. To make this clarification is necessary, because with few and very rare exceptions, only pseudo-clairvoyants and subjective mystics exist.
In reality, all of the mystical schools and all of the spiritualist movements are full of misguided pseudo-clairvoyants who cause more harm than good. They are the ones who give themselves the title of master. Among them abound famous reincarnations, like the John the Baptists, of whom we know more than a dozen, the Mary Magdalenes, etc. This type of person believes that Initiation is as easy as blowing glass in order to make bottles. Thus, based on their supposed mastery and their absurd visions created by their morbid mentality, they prophecy and excommunicate others at their whim, as they like, slandering people and denominating others black magicians, asserting that certain people are fallen, etc.
The Gnostic Movement must cleanse itself of this evil and harmful plague. Therefore, we have begun with the expulsion of Mrs. X.
We are not willing to further tolerate the unhealthy morbidity of all those misguided pseudo-clairvoyants and all those subjective mystics.
We disseminate spiritual intellectual culture, decency, refinement, logical analysis, conceptual synthesis, academic culture, higher mathematics, philosophy, science, art, religion etc. Therefore, in no way whatsoever are we willing to continue to accept the gossip of hallucinating people nor the madness of dreamers.
Indeed, the subjective clairvoyant transfers his dreaming type of Consciousness to his vigil state of Consciousness in order to see in others his own projected dreams. Thus, these projected dreams change according to the temperamental state of the dreamer. In the past, we have been able to confirm that when some pseudo-clairvoyant agreed with all our ideas and concepts, he would then see us as Angels or Gods; thus, he would praise us and even adore us. Nevertheless, when he changed his concept, when the pseudo-clairvoyant became enthusiastic about some new school, when he read some book that appeared marvelous to him, when he listened to some lecturer who came to town, when he resolved to change organizations or schools, then he would accuse us of being black magicians and would see us as demons, etc. This demonstrates that these pseudo-clairvoyants are only dreamers who see their own dreams projected in the Astral light.
The students who really want to reach the ineffable heights of true and legitimate clairvoyance must be extremely careful of the danger from those who deceive themselves. Thus, the students must submit themselves to authentic esoteric discipline.
Reality
The true and legitimate clairvoyant, the one who has achieved Supraconsciousness, never presumes of being a clairvoyant, never goes about saying so. When he gives advice, he does so without making others understand that he does it based on his clairvoyance.
All Gnostic sanctuaries must beware of those people who praise themselves and call themselves clairvoyant.
All Gnostic sanctuaries must exercise the greatest of vigilance to protect themselves against the spectacular pseudo-clairvoyants who, from time to time, appear on the scene to slander and discredit others, assuring us that such fellow is a sorcerer, that such a fellow is a black magician, that such a fellow is fallen, etc. It is urgent to comprehend that no authentic Turiya has pride. Indeed, all those who say, “I am the reincarnation of Mary Magdalene, John the Baptist, Napoleon,” etc., are proud fools, misguided pseudo-clairvoyants, stupid fools.
In front of the terrible and glorious majesty of the Father, we are nothing but miserable particles of dust, horrible worms of the mud. What I am stating in this paragraph is neither an allegorical nor a symbolic matter. I am literally and bluntly asserting a terrible reality.
Indeed, it is the “I” that says, “I am the master such-and-such, the reincarnation of the prophet so-and-so,” etc. Certainly the animal “I” is Satan. It is the “I,” the ego-devil, who feels himself to be a master, mahatma, hierophant, prophet, etc.
We speak bluntly and clearly not out of condemnation, but with concern and compassion, because many people, despite the instructions left to us by the Master, continue with the bad habit of consulting with and submitting to the instructions of pseudo-clairvoyants. Study the rest of this chapter and meditate upon it!
As for negotiating your karma in relation with marriage, you will find a partner suitable to you in accordance with the will of your Being and not with you desires. Therefore, do not strive to find the perfect woman. Rather, occupy your time trying to be the perfect man. All else will follow.
