I am having some difficulty understanding these Ol' Archons and the best way to subdue them.

I'm reading this ^^^ and much of it is veiled to me.

Are there any lectures provided with an in-depth discussion on them?

Are the Archons our own psychological defects needed to be overcome?

That is a work done slowly and gradually in accordance with liberating and awakening all the parts of the Being. As that scriptures says:

Then I said, "Sir, how much longer?"

He said to me, "Until the moment when the true man [the Son of Man], within a modeled form, reveals the existence of the spirit of truth [Christ], which the father [the Ain Soph Aur] has sent.
