Do Gnostics view knowledge as more important than Love and Faith(belief)?
Whoever blows [better said, the alchemist that blows] faith declares righteousness, but a witness of a false belief -- deceit. – Proverbs 12: 17
Iod-Havah I love [Yesod] the habitat of thy house, which is the place where thy glory dwells. Psalm 26: 8
יהוה בחכמה יסד ארץ כונן שמים בתבונה
בדעתו תהומות נבקעו ושחקים ירעפו־טל
By Chokmah [wisdom] in Yesod [foundation-sex] Iod-Havah hath founded the earth; by Binah [understanding] he established the heavens. By his [Daath-Gnosis] knowledge the depths are divided [into Abba and Aima, Father-Mother, Adam and Eve], and the clouds distillate the [semen] dew [in Yesod-sex]. - Proverbs 3: 19, 20
My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge [Daath-Gnosis]: because thou hast [fornicated, thou hast] rejected knowledge [Daath-Gnosis], I will also reject thee, that thou shall be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law [Torah] of thy Goddess [the Schekinah], I will also forget thy children. Hosea 4: 6
Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels (with profound eloquence, experience and knowledge of the scriptures), and have not ἀγάπη charity (חסד Chesed, Mercy, the Innermost within), I am become [as] sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal (who preaches empty doctrines without cognizance of objective truths).
And though I have [the gift of] prophecy (through awakened experiences in dream yoga), and understand all mysteries (esotericism), and all knowledge (from intellectual study); and though I have all Πίστις faith (Pistis, conscious direct experience of the divine), so that I could remove mountains (karmic obstacles), and have not ἀγάπη charity (חסד Chesed, the Innermost incarnated within), I am nothing.
And though I bestow all my goods to feed [the poor], and though I give my body to be burned, and have not ἀγάπη charity (חסד Chesed within me), it profiteth me nothing.
ἀγάπη Charity (חסד Chesed: Mercy, when incarnated within the soul) suffereth long, [and] is kind; ἀγάπη Charity (חסד Chesed) envieth not; ἀγάπη charity (חסד Chesed) vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up,
Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil;
Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the ἀληθείᾳ truth (the Cosmic Christ, represented in the supernal triangle of the Kabbalah);
Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.
ἀγάπη Charity (חסד Chesed, the Merciful) never faileth (since God is perfect): but whether [there be] prophecies (experiences within the internal planes or dream state), they shall fail; whether [there be] tongues (the unveiling of esoteric teachings in the scriptures), they shall cease; whether [there be] γνῶσις knowledge (Gnosis of the divine mysteries on earth), it shall vanish away.
For we know in part, and we prophesy in part (in accordance with the will of ἀγάπη Charity / חסד Chesed).
But when that which is perfect is come (the complete incarnation of ἀγάπη Charity / חסד Chesed, the Innermost Being within), then that which is in part (the terrestrial animal man or vain human personality) shall be done away.
When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child (for when I lacked true spiritual knowledge from initiation, I was but a beginner who only read about the mystical path): but when I became a man (a Real Human Being made into the image of God through sexual alchemy, tantra, Gnosis, and initiation in the Major Mysteries), I put away childish things (I renounced my theories and vain beliefs in exchange for the development of Πίστις pistis and ἀγάπη charity / חסד Chesed in my soul).
For now we see through a glass, darkly (since we lack cognizance of spiritual teachings from our consciousness); but then face to face: now I know in part (in accordance with my level of development and spiritual discipline); but then shall I know even as also I am known (for by their fruits you shall know them).
- 1 Corinthians 13
