Good Day,

Many questions pertaining to the listed topic… Thank You in Advance for guidance;)

When we are on the path and making positive progress, is it a natural phenomenon that long standing friendships will be severed quickly and with exactness?

Does sacrificing ‘self’ mean that what identified with that ‘self’ (attachments) will be cut along with it, without you trying?

If so, would it be safe to say that who remain is in line with one’s spiritual progress?

This is my experience; I am surprised to witness so much change in such little time.

When I speak to others about the teaching (at their request) I receive anger, frustration and insults.
The more I receive these negative responses, the more I know I am on the right track...

The Perfect Matrimony has a beautiful and profound purpose, is another purpose of this alliance because in the end you simply have the work and each other?

It is my impression that the path is so narrow that you will walk alone…

Is there an article/lecture that can address these questions?

Thank you

All things, all circumstances that occur outside ourselves, on the stage of this world, are exclusively the reflection of what we carry within.

With good reason then, we can solemnly declare that the “exterior is the reflection of the interior.”

When someone changes internally and if that change is radical, then circumstances, life, and the external also change.

Not long ago, since 1974, I have been observing a group of people who invaded a private estate ground. Here in Mexico such people receive the strange name of “parachutists.”

They are neighbors from the rural colony of Churubusco; they are very close to my home and that is why I have been able to study them closely.

To be poor will certainly never be a crime; however, their serious problem does not lie in poverty but rather in their Level of Being.

They fight amongst themselves daily, get drunk, insult each other, become the murderers of their own companions who share their misfortunes, and live in filthy huts where hatred reigns instead of love.

Many times I have pondered on the fact that if any one of them would eliminate from his interior hatred, anger, lust, slander, drunkenness, cruelty, egoism, calumny, envy, conceit, pride, etc., he would please other people, and by the simple Law of Psychological Affinities, he would associate with more refined and spiritual people. These new relationships would definitely bring about an economical and social change.

- Samael Aun Weor, Revolutionary Psychology

I am trying to read between the lines here, and it seems that most of your questions are stemming from the loss of certain personal relationships that you have experienced in your life.

As Samael Aun Weor explains above, this can be a reflection of a change in your level of being, since the people we tend to associate with are those who share our psychological vibration. It is not uncommon for people to discover that their circle of friends has shifted after beginning to change themselves psychologically. Whether or not their previous relationships are severed gradually or abruptly (or at all) will depend on the karmic nature of those relationships.

However, I would not jump to the immediate conclusion that just because your (former) friends dislike you that this is some measure of progress. You talked about sharing the teachings with them, which can be good to do, depending on the circumstances. However, it is possible that the way you shared might have offended them in some way. Only you can accurately judge this matter.

It is important to remember that not all people are the same. While some might have a deep-seated aversion to anything spiritual or wholesome, others might be open to receiving, but only if it is delivered in the right way, and at the right time. Samael Aun Weor had a very open and direct approach to delivering the teachings. It is good that he taught that way, because we are very dense, and it was important that his message not be lost or obscured. The lectures given by the instructors here also tend to be quite direct. It is good if you can receive the teachings in this way; however, this particular style of teaching does not work for everyone. Some people need to be given only a little bit at a time, and only at a time when their minds are open to receiving, and it must be delivered in a way that does not offend them. And sometimes the best form of teaching is not words, but actions. This is very delicate, and all of us make mistakes.

I say this to highlight that you should measure your progress by whether or not you are becoming a better person, not whether people appear or disappear from your life. The latter can happen for any number of reasons, and only you can determine what those reasons are.

Regarding your last question, your spouse may disappear too, depending on your Karma or the will of your Being. In the end, as in the beginning, "Love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind."
