The light manifests throughout distinct time periods, cultures, messengers, and groups. When messengers pass, traditions calcify, and groups degenerate, the light moves on, reinvigorating new souls, messengers, and groups who aspire towards light.
Freemasonry was one such tradition that was enlivened by the light, but eventually died. The light has moved on.
While the gnostic tradition is striving to maintain and develop light, there are many people in the movement who do not want to create light, but strengthen their darkness.
Rather than creating light in themselves, such persons seek to steal light from others, because they cannot create. These are not isolated members or a small faction of the population. This is our entire humanity and the majority of "spiritual" groups.
Therefore, it is incongruous to blame a dead religion as the cause of humanity's ailments. All of us are demons of the worst class, who cause the world's genocides, wars, and conflagrations because we refuse to create light in ourselves.
Do not believe me? Meditate and observe yourself to see if you are free of those egos.
All of us are members of the black lodge so long as we have ego. In one moment we may remember our Divine Mother. But in the next a demon takes over. Light battles the darkness in Arcanum 18: Twilight.
Divinity also respects our will, because the light is not a tyrant. These horrible things happen because we allow them and perpetuate them for our own benefit, ignoring the consequences.
The worst conspiracy is our own mind and heart, which refuses to see that we are demons who want to steal light rather than to be baptized and inflamed by it.
Also, if you live in North America, you are part of the 1%, because you have privileges that people from many parts of the world are killing and stealing to acquire. However, that soon will change, because the law of the pendulum swings.
For thirty years I sought God. But when I looked carefully I found that in reality God was the seeker and I the sought. -Bayazid al-Bastami
