"Born to be a slave"

Yesterday someone told me "If you don't finish college then you will have to work in the factory [X]."

This left me profoundely offended. It was like being hit by a poisonous arrow. It ruined my entire day. I could just lie down feeling pain.

I have worked in this factory before. It was such an horrible place. People passing out due to the heat. You could get hurt or cut in a lot of places. All of that for a very small pay.

Even though I know it isn't true that I will need to return to that place, it still hurts when people say stuff like that. As if I am just a sacrifice so that a couple of dudes can get even more rich. A completely dehumanizing existence.
