Given the teachings of Master Samael, I would be hesitant to even consider letting someone else determine my level of achievement in these studies. Though, I do hear instructors speak of "Second Chamber" etc. What exactly is meant by this? If I were to have an experience in the Internal worlds, leading me to believe that I am in "Second Chamber", it would be easy for an instructor in the physical world to say that I should not trust my experience. Likewise, if an instructor in the Euclidian dimension "promoted" me to the "Second Chamber", why should I even pay any attention to them?

So what exactly is this chamber system good for in the scope of initiation? I understand that some students are ready for different levels of teaching and that it is most likely that anything on this web site is considered "First Chamber". Who decides what we're ready for? We do! In one of the posts an instructor mentioned attending retreats and getting to know the instructors to be initiated into "Second Chamber". This sounds an awful lot like "Boys club ethics" to me.

Forgive me, but I don't trust you, when it comes to determining my personal level of development. I only trust my Innermost.

So what is this all about? I am asking because my lack of knowledge of the subject makes it appear as a contradiction. I would like to know that that is not the case.

Thank you. :)

Genuine initiations are related to the Being and have nothing to do with anything physical.

Second Chamber is just another level of help that students can receive. If their instructor feels they are dedicated to make proper use of it, then the student can be invited to receive it. There are no internal initiations required for entry, or any particular degree of awakened consciousness, etc. Those who need the help the most are those who lack advancement. The Gnostic Church offers this form of help as an act of compassion and service; the process of selection to receive is merely to ensure that the student will actually benefit from it. Although out of respect and veneration the details of Second Chamber are kept silent by those who belong, it is nothing scandalous, dramatic, or demanding, nor is it anything out of character with the teachings given in First Chamber. It is pure, holy, and deeply meaningful.

One can only be a member by being invited. That is, you must have a good relationship with an instructor who is guiding you to enter. You should only consider joining based on internal guidance and strong dedication towards your Being. If you do not trust your instructor, then you should not join. Joining Second Chamber is like joining a family; you should naturally and sincerely love those who invite you to attend.

All of this is explained in the course Sacraments of the Gnostic Church.

So someone like me, who feels very dedicated, but is also very degenerated and has no access to a personal relationship with an instructor, nor has the finances to frequent retreats, would be at a disadvantage.

What can those of us who don't live in NY do to get this extra help?
