I was wondering what the Gnostic perspective is on the Ketachon and its influence in the world and individual people's lives. I have felt in my own life a great force disabling my natural abilities and waging war on elements of my soul. Is there a way to counteract these effects? Is there known a time when these influences will finally lessen?

Thank you for your time.

Ketachon literally means "the one who withholds".

In 2 Thessalonians 2, that word refers to the will of God that determines when and how the end times will unfold.

In the microcosm (in us), it relates to how our inner Being tries to "hold back" or slow our karma and defects so we have a chance of working on ourselves.
