Hi. Thank you, Almustafa, for answering my previous questions. However, I'm still trying to figure out some things.

1) What exactly causes suppression? Does making yourself concentrate on one specific thing at the exclusion of everything else cause suppression? And if so then how is meditation not a form of suppression? It's easy for me to see to how emotions can be suppressed, but I'm not sure I understand how thought-suppression works. If I'm anchoring my attention on my breathing and a lustful thought arises and I shift my attention back to my breathing how does that not cause suppression of that thought?

2) I think I read somewhere on this website that doing root locks (mula bandha) is a form of suppression. That doesn't make sense to me. How is that possible?

3) When my sexual energy has the tendency to move downwards, my body seems to automatically want to tighten the area around my perineum as a way of preventing that energy to flow outward. Is this something that I should be counteracting? Because even when I practice Ham-Sah very vigorously, it oftentimes feels as though an emission is imminent if I try to counteract that tightening.

4) Swami Sivananda recommends using headstands to transmute the energy. Why don't you guys ever recommend them. Is that not a valid form of transmutation?

5) To prevent wet dreams, is it necessary to do a concentration practice (whether pranayama or meditation) while I'm lying in bed and about to go to sleep?

6) and if so, is it better to a) meditate on an overall feeling of equanimity with the breath or b) equanimity with the overall feeling of the body or c) equanimity with the overall energy in the body, or is it better to d) visualize the energy circulating up the spine?

7) To prevent wet dreams, is it advisable to try to enter into sleep consciously (while doing a meditation)?

8) Does making my breath intentionally deeper constitute a form of suppression? Is it harmful or beneficial?

1) Suppression of thought and emotion is the result of psychological exertion. What is necessary is to comprehend the functionalism of the three brains.

Comprehension reconciles our psychology. Suppression produces dissonance and internal conflict since the mind exerts itself. Meditation occurs without exertion.

The consciousness perceives and comprehends. It does not exert pressure on the mind, heart, or body. When you focus your consciousness on the breath without indulging distractions, it is important to perceive those distractions and understand them. One has to perceive and understand distractions in the moment. This strengthens your ability to focus on the breath, since the consciousness understands how to pay attention appropriately.

2) Have you seen this? and this?

Most people who practice such yogic exercises do not practice chastity, therefore they react mechanically and egotistically to the stimulation of the sexual force.

Transmutation is different, since it is conscious and does not produce suppression or internal conflict.

3) You have to comprehend how and why you are making your energy flow downward in the first place, in that you should not even have to react by tightening your perenium, especially since the latter practice is often utilized in black tantra.

Re-evaluate how you are practicing Ham-Sah, since it should not stimulate lust and orgasm.

4) Swami Sivananda taught from the yogic traditions. They have their value, but we are teaching from the Gnostic tradition for the Western dispensation.

5) You prevent wet dreams by comprehending and eliminating lust.

6) If you experience a fall, immediately meditate upon the lust that provoked it. If you perceive lust in yourself during the day, meditate on that until you comprehend and eliminate these desires. Transmute daily.

7) You prevent wet dreams through comprehending and eliminating lust, training your body to transmute, balancing your intake of the tattva Tejas, and spiritually protecting your home before you sleep. You should also do hours of runes each day. This list is not exhaustive, but it does cover a lot of bases.

8) Deep relaxed breaths are fine. The lungs must not be strained during transmutation, since consciousness is what directs energy most.

For thirty years I sought God. But when I looked carefully I found that in reality God was the seeker and I the sought. -Bayazid al-Bastami

Thanks Almustafa. This has been helpful. Although I do have to admit that the ham-sa meditation has not been very effective for me. Is it okay if I just do hours of headstands instead?

And why don't you guys start advocating those yogic methods? A lot of westerners are already onboard with yoga. You shouldn't be so inflexible with your teachings. A lot of your content is already pro-eastern.

There are many forms of transmutation in the writings of Samael Aun Weor besides Ham-Sah. Pick one that works for you.

Standing on your head alone will not transmute your sexual energy. Conscious will, prayer, and imagination does.
And why don't you guys start advocating those yogic methods?
This is why.
