From my limited knowledge, the major arcana of the Eternal Tarot correlates with the Rider-Waite Tarot except for the Fool (0 or 21: Transmutation), Justice (11, or 8 in the Eternal Tarot), 8 (Strength, or 11: Persuasion for us), and 21: The World (or 22: The Return).
I cannot comment on the minor arcana because I am not an expert in those earlier traditions.
Despite my ignorance, I do question the utility of matching, comparing, and correlating the minor arcana from the Eternal Tarot to other decks, primarily because the Eternal Tarot is a fully functioning, profound, accurate, effective, and integral system. I think that interpolating meanings from various decks is like trying to use Chinese to clarify English (sorry, for while I do not speak Chinese, I hopefully will one day.
).
There might be some fruit to harvest from such an endeavor, but I say if the machine works, don’t try to fix it. I am not sure or saying that this is your intention. What I am saying is that the minor arcana of the Eternal Tarot are deep enough as they are without confounding variables, i.e. this minor arcanum corresponds with the Seven of Swords, etc.
Some instructors will even argue, more bluntly, that the earlier decks are corrupted and do not accurately convey the messages and laws of the superior worlds, because it was forbidden until the 1960s. Also, the original tarot were not only transmitted imperfectly and illicitly in the past, but devolved throughout centuries of abuse until becoming the cards one commonly uses to play Poker. This also explains the corruption and discrepancies between various tarot systems and the urgency (for Glorian) to publish an accurate deck.
This is not to say that there are no valuable correlations to discover between a genuine teaching and the fragments of an otherwise imperfect transmission. But I wonder whether, after having received the message, one needs to go back and search through the rubble. Perhaps there is great (or futile) work to be done there.
