Is there a way to match up the Gnostic Samael Tarot with the Tarot decks from other authors/traditions. The major arcana is easy to match up. Although the Minor arcana is complicated with the 4 suits of Pentacles, cups, swords and wands. These suits can be also given different names. Samael's minor arcana deck doesn't seem to be split up into these 4 suits?
My question is, is there a way to simply match up the minor arcana of traditional decks with Samael's deck? I understand that some decks such as Thoth come from black schools. Remember that when working with the minor arcana of the Gnostic tarot deck, you can find the kabbalistic sum of the minor arcanum to clarify its meaning and relationship to the other arcana. For example, 24 The Weaver synthesis to the kabbalistic sum of 6 (Indecision). Therefore, when we draw card 24, we also reflect on the value that arcanum 6 plays in that card.
I have noticed that some tarot decks using the 4 suits seem to draw on the numerical value of the minor arcanum in a vaguely similar way. For example, the 10 of pentacles, cups, etc. all seem to have some commonality across them (relative to their particular element), as would the six of pentacles, cups, etc. be somehow related. However, these alternate decks vary so widely in their supposed interpretations of the minor arcana that they do not seem particularly useful in my practice.

From my limited knowledge, the major arcana of the Eternal Tarot correlates with the Rider-Waite Tarot except for the Fool (0 or 21: Transmutation), Justice (11, or 8 in the Eternal Tarot), 8 (Strength, or 11: Persuasion for us), and 21: The World (or 22: The Return).
I cannot comment on the minor arcana because I am not an expert in those earlier traditions.
Despite my ignorance, I do question the utility of matching, comparing, and correlating the minor arcana from the Eternal Tarot to other decks, primarily because the Eternal Tarot is a fully functioning, profound, accurate, effective, and integral system. I think that interpolating meanings from various decks is like trying to use Chinese to clarify English (sorry, for while I do not speak Chinese, I hopefully will one day.

There might be some fruit to harvest from such an endeavor, but I say if the machine works, don’t try to fix it. I am not sure or saying that this is your intention.
