Master Litelantes (one of the 42 judges of karma) liked to test Master Samael’s disciples in order to see how much they love the teachings. Many fanatics withdrew when they saw her coming down from the second floor into the living room of their house and smoking cigars.
Master Samael was always asking her not to do that, which she always did, nonetheless. Thus, Master Samael was preparing them, beforehand, to see her smoking. She finally came down from the second floor with a cigar in her mouth, and served bread with coffee to all of them, and to see if those Colombians could pass the test.
Master Helen Petrovna Blavatsky did the same thing.
