Hello,
I am following the articles with great interest. I would like to seek inspiration in an event that has devastated me, would you be able to shed some light? I am trying to think what is the purpose of someone taking their own life for her parents? We say that everything happens for a reason, nothing is at random. A young person, aged 16, from a nice family, open-minded parents, in a relationship, the 'impressions' we seek in life (if we talk about simple, robotic life, society based drivers), plans carefully how and possibly when to remove herself from the physical world. First of all, what possessed her, what pain was eating her mind? Then now she is gone, leaving a trail of devastation behind. What are we supposed to learn? How can we 'digest' these impressions of confusion, anger with ourselves, sadness, shock, you name it. She was the daughter of one of my friends, my daughter went to nursery with her brother, we saw this girl growing up even if we did not spend a lot of time together but her family, my family and and another family socialised and were connected by a great thread of connectedness. How can I, personally, make sense of what happened, in order to come back to Self and being?
Many thanks.

Firstly, I offer my condolences for your loss.

Suicide is very tragic, and many struggle to comprehend it. The cause of suicide is often multi-factorial and varies by the individual.

My advice to you is to seek comprehension of your reaction to this loss, rather than trying to guess or make sense of the girl's motivations. Observe the complex emotions and thoughts that may arise in you as you grieve for this loss, and pray to your Divine Mother for comfort, peace, and understanding of yourself.

As we are confronted with the countless tragedies and indescribable suffering of our world, we may find inspiration to change ourselves, so that we may become of greater benefit to humanity.

For thirty years I sought God. But when I looked carefully I found that in reality God was the seeker and I the sought. -Bayazid al-Bastami
