How do we know when we are being manipulated through eye (I) contact?
I once read on this forum advice to look at a person's forehead or in between their eyes because they felt that a co-worker was using black magic via eye contact. So that was helpful. Yet I have been naive that these kind of people are real.

I have alot of karmic entanglement with this particular church, whose current pastor and I had a meal together with. It was quite pleasant

How can we use eye contact to both defend ourselves and give fruit to relationships?
How does the description of these many events relate to Esoteric Christianity?
I know that there is a lot here, but I am basically in shock that everything came together today and am only this evening realizing many confluxes of events.

It is necessary to meditate on your experiences, your perceptions, and your psychological interpretations of them, because the mind and senses deceive.
You can always pray to protect yourself, but you need to protect yourself from your own ego most of all. If you have no control over your mind, then others can control it. To eliminate that possibility, you need to meditate and eliminate your ego.
