Hi,

I was speaking with another student who mentioned that there is a literal, symbolic, and personal meaning to everything (or maybe it only applies to communication; and there may be one or two more meanings; I forgot). We did not get into a detailed discussion about it, but I am finding it undeniable, ubiquitous, and powerfully helpful. Where can we learn more about this?

Many Thanks & Happy Post-Retrograde Mercury!

Scriptures have multiple levels of meaning along many dimensions: symbolic, allegorical, moral, psychological, spiritual, kabbalistic, alchemical, etc. Perhaps that is what you were referring to.

Or, in practical life:
If you are eating, eat; if you are getting dressed, get dressed, and if you are walking on the street, walk, walk, walk, but do not think about anything else. Do only what you are doing. Do not run away from the facts. Do not fill them with so many meanings, symbols, sermons and warnings. Live them without allegories. Live them with a receptive mind from moment to moment. ―Samael Aun Weor, The Revolution of the Dialectic

That's fair.

But what is the difference between scriptures and practical life?
