Obelisks

Hello dear instructors.

I am curiously researching the topic of obelisks currently, and have realized I haven't really taken the gnostic approach in trying to understanding them and their use.

Did master Samael talk about the esoteric meaning behind obelisks and their use somewhere? Is there another author you would recommend on this topic? I've known for a while that they represent a great point of interest in the masonic architecture worldwide, but I'm more curious about their strategic placements and purpose.

I am trying to understand if the obelisks are just objects of ceremonial symbolism (doubt it), or do they have practical use? Do they have any connection to the stars / constellations and if so in which way.
