How can we “digest” the returning feelings associated with loss and grief?

How can we communicate with one who has passed away? How can we help his soul when there is a strong feeling of unrest…
I am certain you expect the first answer to be meditation, and it is. Loss and grief require comprehension, which can only be gained by profound meditation on those experiences.

Your thoughts and prayers reach the recently deceased. Try to avoid radiating sorrow and regret, which intensifes their suffering. To help them, send them encouragement to let go of attachment, and to become aware of themselves so they may have a chance to stop repeating their mistakes.

Right after I sent you my question yesterday (before even I received your reply) the vision of this newly deceased person came to me. He almost begged me not to intensify his suffering but radiate love and warmness every time I remembered him. I was surprised to read his exact words in your reply message this morning. Thank you. This means a lot 🙏

I now feel his gratitude coming back. It softens my heart and in fact it is healing me in return and helping with the stuffed grief from previous experiences.

This still needs further comprehension I agree. And I will study the book. But the difference between yesterday and today was so profound that I could not help sharing.
