It is important to have standards that students will reach as we model, through our example, how to be exemplary, knowledgeable, compassionate, and ethical citizens.

However, our expectations should not be so unrealistic that we resent students for failing to succeed and meet those expectations.

Samael Aun Weor wrote that we lack love for students when we compare them to others. We have to recognize and comprehend each individual as they are, so that a profound mentor / student relationship can blossom within an atmosphere of cognizant love.

Conscious love is based on our comprehension and understanding of students. Combined with best practices, we learn to negotiate with and navigate the minds of our pupils with art, efficacy, and skill.

Study and meditate upon Fundamentals of Gnostic Education. This book is essential for parents, teachers, and counselors.
