I have heard few instructors claim that some initiates willingly fall in order to gain more light, why is this light not attained during the initiation

Knowledge comes from experience and comprehension, not initiations.

Many people receive the initiation of "graduation from high school," but that does not reflect their knowledge, understanding, or character. The same is true of spiritual initiations.

Also, do not confuse falling with descending. To fall is to commit a crime. To descend is to obey the will of divinity.

Those who fall to gain light do so from ambition, and will be resoundingly punished for it. All ambition is punished by the law of nemesis (karma).
