"But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.
- Words of Jesus
Question is, how exactly does "our innermost, our I AM" forgive us for our wrong doings, our does he forgive our heroic actions, without the law of "cause and effect" which is karma slamming us into sufferings, in order to reap what we sowed?

When the doer is dead Karma is useless; in order for Karma to become useless we have to forgive those that trespass against us. In order to forgive those that trespass against us we have to forget their wrong doings, one forgets the wrong doings of their neighbor when one comprehends. One comprehends when one apprehends right thought, right feelings and right action with the consciousness, otherwise, one develops resentment, which is the memory of the neighbor’s wrong doing against us. And that memory creates Karma.

Weep not: behold, the Lion of the tribe of Judah,
the Root of David, has prevailed to open the book,
and to loose the seven seals thereof. - Revelation 5: 5
