Greetings,

I pray that God is keeping you all happy and healthy. Many of us have written testimonials, whether they be on the new Testimonials part of the Glorian website or on this beloved 'Ask Instructor' forum or many other avenues, and I personally testify to the benefits that they have had on me at least. How do we most effectively write testimonials?

Surely there is a bunch of advice out there on the internet, but we do not always know how much we can trust that.

I personally want to write a general Gnosis testimonial regarding my experience with Gnosis. I am at the seven-year anniversary of discovering Gnosis and should write down a lot of what has happened lest it is forgotten. Then it evolved into realizing that I can actually make a difference with explaining my experience, I hope. And finally it has culminated into what reminds of the second paragraph of A Guide to the Bodhisattva's Way of Life, to paraphrase for personal purposes, "And I have no skill in the art of rhetoric; / Therefore, lacking any intention to benefit others, I write this in order to acquaint it to my own mind." While there is some "desire" to benefit others with the testimonial, I feel that we often fail to appreciate the catharsis of tesimonials. Maybe we could use our backlogged Spiritual Diaries.... ;)

There is also a testimonial that I have started titled, "Testimonial: Help Spread Gnosis Via Flyers! Will We Do Our Part?" but the previous testimonial is the big one.

Also, I have started writing a memoir about my experiences in college, which my Mom and I often joke about how we could write a book about my experience at that one oh-so particular place.

Finally, I can very easily see myself infecting others with my stupidity. As my favorite professor put it from reading so many papers, "the supercilious silliness and pseudo-erudition of undergraduates." While I am long out of college, I still have that tendency to write from the intellect, not my Being.

Who knows how far we could take writing testimonials. They seem like a great gregarious way to serve and sacrifice and maybe even lead someone to Gnosis. :o

If you would let me know what you think about all of this, it would really get me started in a good direction. Thank you very much, everyone.

Bests,
Adam

Write from your heart. Your conscience knows best how the teachings have helped you.

Hello Again!

Still hope you are doing well. I forgot one possibly important part about the inquiry. For me, the lines between testifying and instructing are blurred, and I know that, unless we are Instructors, we should refrain from trying to instruct others. If you could kindly take this into consideration in your answer, if you consider it important and relevant, I would appreciate it.

No hurry! Be well.

Sincerely,
Adam
