Whatever in these works is not proscribed
Be sure to undertake and implement.
And what you find enjoined there, perfectly fulfill,
And so protect the minds of worldly beings.

Examining again and yet again
The state and actions of your body and mind—
This alone defines in brief
The maintenance of watchful introspection.

But all this must be acted out in truth,
For what is to be gained by mouthing syllables?
What invalid was ever helped
By merely reading the doctor's treatises?
