Is it fair to say, that the reason mankind continues to indulge in DESIRE is because we do not "comprehend" the DESTRUCTIVE "nature of our bad habits, if we are able understand that alcohol is bad Intellectually when reading signs like "It slows the functions of the brain, one becomes VERY slow in thinking and reacts very slow to anything, and that the mind will not be sharp at all! or even that cigarettes "WILL kill you by giving you LUNG cancer", these words are heavily understood intellectually, so why is the Craving or the urge so strong in some people, I even know some that aspire to quit permanently, but sadly they still hear that strong urge that makes them repeat and repeat, an example, say when they are BOMBARD with thoughts and are thinking heavily or even when heavily STRESSED out, they seek those harmful baverages for escape, so is knowing the DANGER of a thing not good enough? I mean is this on everyone? "Why is it that some find it easy to quit a bad habit than others, I mean some of them do not know how to meditate! And "is studying the nature of a harmful thing during meditation using our CONSCIOUSNESS and not our brain the BEST escape to freedom?

One can not abandon desire. It has to be comprehended and eliminated, otherwise such demons continue to exist within the sub-consciousness and await the moment for their fulfillment and fruition. Therefore, true renunciation is comprehension, whereas giving up bad habits to replace them with others is repression. Being (understanding) has more force than knowledge (intellectual deliberation). The latter is the surface, whereas the former is the ocean of ever expanding comprehension.

Joyful in hope, suffering in tribulation, be thou constant in thy prayer.

Benedictis, qui venit in nomine Domini. Osanna in excelsis.

"Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord. Hosanna in the highest!"
