So from what I know when one is Retrospecting during meditation the main focus is "finding our Defects and then judging them", in introspection meditation, one is "searching the path" to the answer of any problem", in relaxation meditation, one is basically adding the feeling of "drowsiness" to any part of the body, so that part can become totally calm and not tense, and then with Comprehension meditation one is basically "trying to understand the "nature" of a thing? So basically judging, searching, adding drowsiness and understanding the nature of a thing! Dear instructors I am only a student, but if I am right on the way I understand this meditative practices, then good, if not I would appreciate any corrections!!
Thanks once again!
Analytical meditation, such as retrospection, utilizes conscious perception, visualization, and concentration upon the events and egos of a given day, so as to arrive at comprehension and elimination of one’s defects. Absorption meditation or stabilization is the work of cultivating serenity, concentration, and continuity and pliancy of attention. To be effective at analytical meditation, one must be established in some degree of serenity. However, to truly comprehend oneself, we must have a profound integration of meditative stabilization (concentration) with insight (imagination).
