It seems to me that deception is at the root of evil and black magic, not lust.

I cannot think of a worse crime than intentional deception.

However, lust seems to be seen as the root of evil and ego in these studies.

Is this because the desire to deceive is born out of lust anyway? (not necessarily sexual lust)
Since you cannot deceive divinity, deception is only a crime against oneself and others. Lust is a crime against divinity. That is why it is worse.

Alexis,

When you say "oneself and others" do you mean the ego?

I have read (I am not sure if it was within these studies or not) that "the body of God is truth."

Is Satan (the ego) not primarily a deceiver? (Albeit one that works from the inside.)

If someone deceives enough and has no remorse for it, is their connection to Divinity not severed?

And this is the condemnation, that the Light is come into the world, and men loved Darkness rather than Light; because their deeds were evil.
For every one that doeth evil hateth the Light (hates Sexual Magic, prefers lust), neither cometh to the Light, lest his deeds should be reproved, (discussed).
But he who doeth Truth cometh to the Light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are brought in God.

Whosoever lies sins against the Father. Whosoever feels hatred against someone sins against the Son. Whosoever fornicates, that is to say, whosoever spills the semen, sins against the Holy Spirit. The Father is the Truth, the Son is Love, the Holy Spirit is Sexual Fire.
