So the Master Samael Aun Weor recommends mostly and foremost that we learn how to meditate, that is learning how to utilize our consciousness to understand things, learning how to Introspect/Retrospect into anything and gaining the fullest and truest answer of why something is. He wants us to learn how to let say Comprehend anything instead of Memorizing it, that is, if something is comprehended there is no need to memorize it. So my question is now days everything is based upon the memory of the individual in order to be considered Intelligent or smart, speaking primarily on the education system, before, societies were based on imitation rather than memorization, for instance a language could be heard spoken of and then could be imitated over a period of time, and one can Master the language rather than sit in a classroom and try to learn a language from A to Z, for like three or four year's, most of the holy scriptures were easily imitated, so now days to get a good job one needs a great memory or an education, and without that, one has to do double shifts and is left with a minimum wage job, which is not in anyway going to support a household. But in times ago people survived differently without the use of Education and without the need to memorize books upon books in order to be considered Intelligent or smart in any way, things then were based on imitation rather memorization!, Everything was learned through imitation and professions then never required decades of education and for someone to posses a strong and mighty memory. So as everything has evolved memorizing something has become the center stage of modern society. So my question is, "the human brain functions in many different ways, including memory, reasoning, thoughts, speech etc. For there is nothing wrong with remembering things, for that is why that part of the brain known as memory is there, but when one looks at the education systems and what it requires of students to remember it seems that, that part of the brain gets abused easily, especially in these higher education systems, "whatever Colleges or Universities, the amount of work that is given for a student to remember or memorize is loads upon loads, a lot of information for the memory to carry and keep inside the brain. The memory is supposed to receive a number of amount of details and keep it stored for a certain period of time, until it is all Gone! But when one looks into what one is required to remember or memorize for instance in these Colleges or Universities these center is easily abused, and in which can turn out to be not healthy for the brain, since no center of the body should ever be abused including the Memory center, so is it possible the black brotherhood and it's leaders are in control of these school systems and are therefore knowingly hurting society and misleading it, into more degeneration than it already has, with it's countless of FALSE theories, such as creationism and the ideas about the foundation of the universe?

Special Nourishment to Develop the Power of the Memory

"Prepare your breakfast with acidic fruits and ground almonds along with honey (bee honey). In this way you will provide the brain with the necessary atoms for memory.

Every system in the world is degenerated because each one of us has the ego alive. If we have lust, pride, envy, anger, then we are part of the black lodge.

Nevertheless, it is necessary for us to survive in this world, which means we need an income, which comes from having a job, which means we need skills, which usually means we need an education from a school. Therefore, we have to know how to adapt to circumstances, and have compassion for humanity.

"Blue time or rest therapeutics has basic rules without which it would be impossible to emancipate ourselves from the mortifying shackles of the mind. These rules are:

1. Relaxation: It is indispensable to relax the body for meditation; no muscle should remain with tension. It is urgent to provoke and to regulate drowsiness by will. It is evident that with the wise combination of drowsiness and meditation, that which is called illumination will be the outcome.

2. Retrospection: What are we looking for in retrospection? Due to the mechanical life that he lives in, the intellectual animal forgets the Self. Thus, he falls into fascination. He goes around with his consciousness asleep, without remembering what he did at the moment of rising from his bed, without knowing the first thoughts of the day, his actions, and the places he has been.

The objective of retrospection is the acquisition of awareness of one’s behavior or actions of the past. When carrying out the retrospection, we should not put any objections to the mind; we will recall memories of past actions, from the moment of beginning the retrospection to the desired moment in our lives. We should study each memory without becoming identified with it.

"What is retrospection? It is the first step that we perform when we sit down to meditate; in it, we submerge into our mind in order to contemplate our past.

What specifically do we retrospect? We have to retrospect all the events that we had earlier in the day, since the moment that we sat down to meditate, going back in time, until the moment that we woke up in our beds, even remembering the dreams that we had, during the hours that we were sleeping.

"Then, we enter our meditation practice by performing a retrospection on all the events of that day; that is, we start remembering all of the events of the day, and recognizing them with our consciousness. For instance, we recognize an event and say, “This event relates to a defect of anger, and this other to an event of lust, and this other to an event of gluttony,” and so on and so forth.

So, when we finish the retrospection, we have already recognized a series of events that happened to us during the day, and which are related to different psychological situations, to different defects, namely, events of anger, events of lust, events of pride, of gluttony, of hatred, etc. This is why the exercise of retrospection is the first step we do when we sit down to meditate.

Our consciousness must not fall in identification to any event when we are performing retrospection. Our consciousness just has to observe and recognize the events during the retrospection; that is to say, our consciousness is just retrospecting, remembering all the different events from the very moment when we sit to perform our meditation back to the moment when we woke up in our bed.
