בראשית- ברא אלהים אתה- שמים ואתהארץ


Bereshith- Bera-Elohim -At Ha-Schamayim

In the beginning-the - gods and goddesses- created-the heavens-and- the earth

this does not seem to include - "and the earth"

please explain translation

There's no problem with the translation. But you are right to say that the transliteration is missing the last phrase.

בראשית- ברא אלהים אתה- שמים ואתהארץ

בראשית = Bereshith (In the beginning)
ברא אלהים = bera Elohim (the Gods and Goddesses created)
אתה- שמים = at Ha-Shamayin (the heavens)
ואתהארץ = et herets (and the earth)

So it's all there.

wikipedia is giving


ve'et ha'aretz- to mean and the earth.

what is still unclear after investigating is how those words are related to the hebrew letters.

the other words letter for letter proceeding Et Herets seem to be straight forward
