Hello dear instructors,

I am currently feeling intense emotional pain and have found myself facing terrible hopelessness. This pain is incredibly crushing, and I am left weeping and without ambition of any sort, whether it be towards spiritual or material pursuits. I just don't want to do anything anymore, I don't want to eat or do any typical daily activity. I just want to sleep. Everything seems so pointless to me, and despite my knowing better, I really find myself reconsidering pressing on and aspiring towards a higher spiritual being. I don't recall ever feeling such intense pain in my life.

Then there is the fear and unwillingness to face what troubles my heart. I can say with honesty that I don't want to let go of it. I don't want to let go of her. It is odd to see that I desperately cling to my own suffering. I cannot see beyond it, it has such a grip on me. I cannot see myself moving on from it and being rid of it. I just don't know what to now. Mustering the strength to try and meditate on it is proving to be an ordeal in itself.

The problems of life are nothing more than mental forms with two poles: one positive and the other negative. Problems are sustained by the mind and are created by the mind. When we stop thinking about a problem, inevitably the latter ends.
- Samael Aun Weor, The Revolution of the Dialectic

You said yourself what your problem is. You don't want to let go of your suffering.

All of us experience this at times. The mind feels stuck, mired in a hole we cannot escape. But no suffering lasts forever. And when we suffer, we do our best to help our mind escape from the problem, so that we can see it for what it is.

Try to take your mind off of your problem. Get away from it. Do something that will make you think about something else.

Go for a walk. Do some exercise. Listen to some good music. Spend some time with other people in a positive, uplifting setting.

And remember your Being. Always.

Keep a perspective on what this life is. We do not live for ourselves, for our own desires. We live for Him, "for we belong to Christ." (1 Cor 3:23)

Remember that your Being, in His unfathomable love, is with you through your suffering. Pray to Him. Pray to your Divine Mother. And "he who learns how to suffer in silence will undoubtedly experience the consoling power of God."

It seems hard to approach Him, because our egos do not want to let go of our suffering, but we strive to place our heart and soul in Him, to let Him awaken our consciousness to the reality of our situation, to help us to see as He sees.

I also recommend: Take of yourself. Eat well, eat healthy. Cut any junk out of your diet. What we eat can have a major impact on our emotional state. Go to a place where you can breathe fresh, clean air. And be conscious as you're breathing it. Be present with whatever you are doing.

You might also wish to try the Magic of the Roses, for curing the emotional center:

Magic Formula of the Rose in Order to Be Healed from an Emotional Pain

Place three crystal glasses filled with pure water upon a table, with one rose in each glass. These glasses must be arranged so that they will form a triangle, one glass towards the north, another towards the east and another towards the west.

Each glass must be blessed by the person performing this rite, who will drink the three glasses of rose water daily in the following sequence: Before breakfast, drink the glass of water which faces the east. Before lunch drink the glass of water which faces the north. Before dinner, drink the glass of water which faces the west.

This treatment must be accompanied by a sincere supplication to the Intimate (Spirit) and to the White Fraternity, so they may help the person become free from the emotional pain in which he is situated.

Any emotional pain, as grave as it might be, will be cured with this formula, which is repeated for several days.

When and during what epoch has any physician cured sufferings of an emotional nature?

How many people die daily or get sick because of emotional sufferings? Nonetheless, it is sad to say that there has never been a compassionate person who has delivered to humanity the exact formula in order to cure emotional pains.

Cases of suicide are innumerable and nobody has ever spoken about the magic of the Roses.

Many certified physicians can be blamed for deaths that occur daily. Yet, human justice cannot reach them, even when, so to speak, they can fill up a cemetery on their own.

I knew young people who were humble and modest while they were simple students from the faculty of medicine. Yet, as soon as they received their physician’s title, they became proud, vain and despotic. Medicine is a very sacred priesthood. Therefore, by no means can a despotic or proud individual ever be an authentic Physician.
