On one hand, the teachings seem to point me beyond good and evil. On the other, isn't the white lodge good and the black lodge evil? So if by going into the white lodge we become good(or rather we become good and enter the white lodge), then how do we move past this dualistic consciousness?

"Good and evil" is a mental concept. The reality is not like that. This is somewhat like "light and dark." We think they are opposites, but that is just a concept. Since our intellect is trapped in dualism, we also interpret "white lodge and black lodge" as dualistic opposites. The reality is different.

Just as there are infinite qualities or vibrations of light (most of which we cannot see, much less conceptualize), there are also infinite qualities of consciousness. There are not two qualities (good vs evil, white vs black): there is an infinite range of qualities or vibrations.

The "white lodge" corresponds to those qualities of consciousness that are not trapped by karma: an infinite range, of qualities we have no knowledge or experience of.

The "black lodge" corresponds to qualities of consciousness that are trapped by karma. This we know about, but do not recognize it for what it is. We think it is "normal."

Therefore, there is no "dualistic opposition" between them, except in our mind.

Of course, they are in conflict, since the black causes suffering, and the white seeks to alleviate suffering. Yet, the black is always restrained, trapped, limited, while the white is not.

Alexis, I noticed you did not use the word "infinite" to describe the qualities of consciousness of the black lodge.

Was this by design?

If so, how could the qualities of consciousness be infinite on one end of the continuum and not on the other?

The conditioning of the consciousness has a limit. It cannot be "infinitely conditioned." There is no "infinite evil." That is again just dualistic thinking that has nothing to do with nature or the reality of consciousness.

That makes sense Alexis, thank you.
