In retrospective meditation, when we have identified a defect and we start to analyze it, hazily we start to see that in fact there is a whole chain of interconnected errors, the defect that we are studying at that present moment is just a link in the long chain, but that link is composed of many other elements, just like a real chain is composed of atoms, molecules etc.
My question is related to the study of our defects in meditation, in a short meditation session, one may be studying a defect, understanding that a certain defect has been ignited by another one, comprehending that in fact the error was in the way one was perceiving in that moment and so on, but this always seems superficial, as if it is not enough to make that radical change in the core of our mind, what sort of advice can you give us so that our meditation is more effective?
