In retrospective meditation, when we have identified a defect and we start to analyze it, hazily we start to see that in fact there is a whole chain of interconnected errors, the defect that we are studying at that present moment is just a link in the long chain, but that link is composed of many other elements, just like a real chain is composed of atoms, molecules etc.

My question is related to the study of our defects in meditation, in a short meditation session, one may be studying a defect, understanding that a certain defect has been ignited by another one, comprehending that in fact the error was in the way one was perceiving in that moment and so on, but this always seems superficial, as if it is not enough to make that radical change in the core of our mind, what sort of advice can you give us so that our meditation is more effective?

You must follow your heart--always. Intuition is the divine language of the Being. Dianoetic analysis must always be accompanied and directed by the voice of intuition and the guidance of the heart. You may find that it is necessary to analyze a given defect by first comprehending its relationship to others. Or, depending on the need, you may need to isolate the given defect first in order to comprehend a specific aspect of it, such as its thoughts, feelings and volition. This is always determined by the spiritual inquietudes of the heart.

Meditation is dynamic. There is no rigid code that one must follow, step by step as if following a checklist. What we have been provided by the Master Samael are conscious principles toward actualizing profound and creative comprehension. What fuels our meditation are the secret whispers and inclinations of the heart. This is the voice of the silence.

When we allow our Divine Mother to guide us through our heart in meditation, then the flashes of illumination appear. This depends solely on our ability to concentrate on one thing at a time, to direct the mind consciously with precision, and then to await Her answer.

Creative comprehension is a ray of lightning within the dark clouds of the mind. Learn to concentrate on only one thing at a time. Try to isolate a defect and first examine its three brains. Concentrate and reflect; analyze the defect and await for the spark of comprehension to strike. However, do not anticipate an answer. Simply observe, focus the mind, and wait. The newness emerges when we least expect it, like lightning as I mentioned, which more often than naught is followed by the long thundering of the mind, which does not understand. For as it is written in John 1:5, "The light shines in the darkness, but the darkness comprehends it not."

Joyful in hope, suffering in tribulation, be thou constant in thy prayer.

Benedictis, qui venit in nomine Domini. Osanna in excelsis.

"Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord. Hosanna in the highest!"
