I was long wondering what might be the Gnostic interpretation of the story of Christ cursing the barren fig tree?
Found various interpretations on the Internet, but non of them seemed viable enough to me.
Besides, why "cursing", and not "condoling with it" or "tending the tree to make it bear fruit in the future"?
Is not cursing others considered a sin in Christianity? Does this "cursing" have some sort of special meaning?
I'd greatly appreciate your help in understanding the esoteric meaning behind this story, which seems to be a very important one.
