I've seen where there is instruction to bathe the body with incenses such as sulfur. I was just wondering if the sulfur is toxic and needed to avoid breathing in how does one bathe their body in sulfur? Also is there any specific way we should "bathe" the body with incense smoke? Should the smoke just be run over the physical body to cleanse it or is there a specific way to take the smoke over the body?

In the case of sulfur, you can mix sulfur powder into water in your bathtub and cleanse your body, without releasing smoke. Sulfur powder should not be burned unless one will not be present in that space for several hours. The smoke is highly toxic.

Sage, on the other hand, is safe to burn and to fan the smoke over the body.
