There are two forms of celibacy or brahmacharya: lunar and solar. See the glossary reference below.
Masters of Major Mysteries can work with solar brahmacharya and slowly raise the Kundalini through terrific sacrifices. But this is only for those initiates who have worked to create solar bodies in the alchemical crucible.
The fire must already be present to a certain degree before one can work individually, slowly, with solar brahmacharya, such as the present Dalai Lama.
So, how do we know we're practicing solar brachmacharya? As an example, I am a bachelor, I struggle with lust, I try to comprehend it every day. I can keep my most base impulses at bay, until I cannot. Sometimes my mind is inclined towards more and more perverse desires. That reminded me of the concept of lunar brachmacharya.
I am practicing pranayama and many regenerative exercises. I meditate and try to comprehend my inclinations. So why my practice is still lunar (so it increases evil vibrations after a period of time)?
