Sometimes I meditate on an image of some random environment and realize that I'm deeply rested enough to start stepping right into this dream world and explore around. Other times without my intention, previous dream images are wiped out and find myself still with eyes shut, but seeing my bedroom (my current physical meditation room) with my astral eyes. At this point I must crawl out and project.

Are these both astral projections? Why is it that most astral projections begin in the bedroom and others are elsewhere from the mediators original position? Perhaps this has to do with the sub-planes of the astral plane. Perhaps the flooding of etheric matter first brings us to the etheric duplicate of the physical world before we astral project and slip into dream land...

Sometimes we are conscious when we first transition into the internal worlds. Other times we enter unconsciously and only awaken once we’ve projected, traveling very far to other places.

This is due to our level of being and training. If we are more disciplined in astral projection and meditation, then we will be able to stay awake even when the body falls asleep, to not be pulled under by tamas, inertia, dullness, laziness, and the sleep of our consciousness.

The more we awaken physically, the easier it will be to awaken internally, at will.
