Hello Instructors,
Sorry if this is a bit of a strange question!
To my understanding, we activate and access our consciousness by creating an inner separation from our physical, emotional and mental processes. And when we do this we can experience something which is beyond all those processes, something which could be described as pure awareness (i.e. the consciousness).
In Chapter 7 of The Great Rebellion, Samael Aun Weor teaches that no amount of physical, emotional, or mental activity will awaken our consciousness. And that we can only awaken our consciousness by working directly with the consciousness itself (i.e. through self-observation and by creating that inner separation).
So if this is the case, then what is the purpose of cultivating superior emotions through wholesome activities such as listening to classical music and walking in nature? (Not that I intend to stop doing these things – I’m just trying to understand this topic better). Because, to my understanding, cultivating those emotions – as nice as that experience may be – will not awaken the consciousness, and will therefore not ultimately help us transform our suffering?
Thank you
